  • Steller's Jay
  • Weasel

Wildlife in the area

  • Very common: mule deer, Wapiti (American elk), Abert's Squirrel, Steller's Jay, Clark's Nutcracker, Chickaree, Chipmunk, Ground Squirrel, Rocky Mountain bluebird; hummingbird
  • Common: bighorn sheep, pika, marmot, coyote, ptarmigan
  • Less common: moose (on western side of Continental Divide), beaver, bald eagle, red-tailed hawk, ermine/weasel, red fox, snowshoe hare; porcupine
  • Rare: black bear, mountain lion, bobcat

Bull elk in my yard. In the fall, we've seen herds here (by our home) as large as two hundred elk.
