Thankyou for your very informative site. We are a long awaited trip to Colorado to hike the trails and get our future into the proper prospective as this is what the mountains do for us. We are think- ing that ihe Chasm lake trail might not be to overly- ambitious, but it will be definitely a challenge to us all. Thanks again. The Olmstead's of Wisconsin

I have been living in Indianapolis for the last five years- But I am moving back to Boulder, CO on June 8 2000! I am really impressed with all of the Rocky Mountain Info on this page.- It will come in handy on trips this Summer. I hiked to the top of Long's 3 Summers in a row- in the 80's. I am an old man of 36 now- But there are lots of rocky mountain adventures ahead of me!!!---I take that back- look at Karl Malone- He is My age and he is one AWESOME phsyical speciman. I aint no Karl Malone- But I feel pretty good these days!!! ---Bob

Mike...we will be staying in Estes Park 6/24-7/4. We are avid day-hikers, and this year our 19 yr. old son will fly out to spend a week with us. He spent last summer in Alaska as part of a NOLS expedition & wants to do some overnight backpacking. Does anyone have any experience with the Battle Mtn. campground & possibly climbing Mt. Meeker? I'm afraid that Longs Peak will still be closed to non-technical at that time. Alaska spoiled him with its' solitude so we're looking for little-used camping areas...if that's at all possible! We welcome any suggestions...email me at mag3b@net-link.net. barb w.

Heck of a site! I admire your commitment and thoroughness. I lived in Estes in 1978-79, and hiked Sky Pond, Lake Odessa, Deer Mtn, MacGregor Mtn., and Longs via the keyhole. I currently live in North San Diego County, and have hiked extensively in the Southern California ranges and Sierra. I hope to have my own site up soon. Like yours but slightly more photo oriented. Best of luck...Terry

Estes Park is very beautiful and I would like to visit again. We were there June 29,2000. We traveled from Minnesota in our Street Rods. There were 7 couples in our group. We were the only car in the group that drove to the top. We drove a 1937 Ford sedan. It was very nice experience.

Great site, I was looking for some info on Sandbeach Lake and you're the first site that I came to.

We're thinking of having a company team hike to that Lake. Know of any pictures of the lake?

Ahhh, home! I can't wait to get back to Colorado again and do some more hiking around there. In the meantime, Washington will have to suffice! I miss those Colorado Rockies so much! Anyway, great site and best wishes!

Thanks, this is a great site for information about hiking in the Park. I'm in Denver for a two week conference and needed some quick information about hikes that we can do this weekend. I appreciate the suggestions for flat-landers like me (Baltimore, Maryland) and plan a safe and enjoyable hike.
